Architecture in movement, Burgos (E), Europan 6

Sabine Müller and Andreas Quednau were winners in Europan 6, “In-between cities”, in 2001 in Burgos (E). Their project “Dots And Loops” is currently under construction.
The competition project negotiates the potentials and conflicts of the site: proximity to landscape and Infrastructure, a highway penetrating into the city. A bendable housing typology serves as the mediator: the apartment acts as the slowing intersection of two movements - Elasticity -: arriving by car and going outdoors into the landscape - Intersection of trajectories.
In the urban development plan parcellation works as a tool for landscaping and for guaranteeing public permeability. Landscape fingers pull the agrarian landscape into the new urban area - Intensification of the existing.
