Ereta park, Alicante (E), Europan 3:

Marc Bigarnet and Frédéric Bonnet, runners-up of EUROPAN 3 in the Alicante (E) site, conducted a hillside landscape project, Ereta Park.
On a dry stone in the centre of Alicante, the competition project is based on a landscape concept where buildings and park are discretely incorporate into the hill landscape.
The park implemented according to the principles stated in the competition, forms this territorial link. It follows the topography of the hill to structure a series of contrasted spaces, from the most ordered garden spaces adjoining the town to the wildest near the foot of the cliff - Between substance and territory-. The buildings seek out the cool of the earth and offer up only one wall to the sun, incorporated into the structure of the hill, Interwoven boundaries. Between the ground proximity and the openness to the see, the park offers a series of sequences where the locals come to stroll and relax while rediscovering their city: a nice example of modern Transformations of sites moulded by History, where Nature now plays a major role. The Sustainable landscapes implie this sense of measure and of continuity between the existing elements and the new ones.
