Urban forest in Cordoba (E), Europan 6:

Ma Auxiliadora Gálvez Pérez, winner of Europan 6 on the Cordoba (E) site, is in the process of building an organic morsel of urban fabric on the Guadalquivir River.
The winning project proposes to insert a “new space” into this semi-urban area, one that would be able to regenerate the socially excluded adjacent districts. In formal terms, the buildings look like fingers and create an urban forest - Building as landscape-.
The implementation project creates a flexible and living surface like the river - Sensory spaces-, providing a blurred boundary between the city and the Guadalquivir - Pulsation, permeability-. This boundary forms several strips running west to east, with different architectural levels (urban public space linked with nature, different types of buildings as landscape). Each strip proposes a different ambience with notably the strip of “vegetative housing” - Sensible materials-: the qualities of building materials can transform architecture into a sensory resonance box.
